History.
This is a revision of the publicationp r i n t e d o n 3 0 S e p t e m b e r 1 9 9 3 . B e c a u s e t h e publication has been extensively revised, thechanged portions have not been highlighted.
Summary.
This revised pamphlet containsprocedures for planning, resourcing, and exe-cuting training. It includes weapons qualifica-tion standards, suggested training programs,and ammunition requirements for the attain-ment and sustainment of weapons proficien-c y . T h e p r o g r a m s i n c o r p o r a t e t r a i n i n gdevices and simulators.
Applicability.
This pamphlet applies to theS p e c i a l O p e r a t i o n F o r c e s D e p u t y C h i e f o Staff for Operations and Plans in the ActiveArmy, the Army National Guard, and the U.S. Army Reserve . This publication is appli-cable to all Special Operation Forces unitc o m m a n d e r s , b a t t a l i o n s , g r o u p s a n d m a j o r A r m y c o m m a n d s . T h i s p u b l i c a t i o n a p p l i e s during partial and full mobilization.
P r o p o n e n t a n d e x c e p t i o n a u t h o r i t y .
The proponent of this pamphlet is the DeputyChief of Staff for Operations and Plans. TheD e p u t y C h i e f o f S t a f f f o r O p e r a t i o n s a n d Plans has the authority to approve exceptionsto this pamphlet that are consistent with con-trolling law and regulation. The Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Plans may dele-gate this authority, in writing, to a divisionchief within the proponent agency or a fieldoperating agency in the grade of colonel orthe civilian equivalent.
