IMG from UAE (MCCEE score 427) I have noted down a few things about the MCEE preparation:

Material: 1. First Aid for the USMLE part 2 CK (all the book except psychiatry and statistics) 2. Kaplan series: ONLY the statistics chapters. 3. Toronto notes: Only the psychiatry chapter. The above three I studied fully, the rest of my studying was question dependant as explained below. Studying strategy: 1. I used to do mcqs for MCCEE from Canada q bank. I did by topic e.g. cardiology for 3 weeks. This way I can focus on one topic and cover it properly. 2. If I solve the question correctly and feel that the explanation given by the website about the topic is sufficient and that I am well aware of the topic being discussed then I limit myself to reading the explanation given by the website after the question. 3. If I solve the question wrong or solve it correctly but feel that I am deficient in the topic then I go and read more about it. My sources for that EXTRA reading are either Toronto notes or the Internet (emedicine and wikipedia). 4. The Canada q bank has questions per topic e.g. cardiology, pediatrics, OB/GYN etc...so for several months I did questions topic wise. So that I can focus on one topic per time...then before the exam by 3-4 months I mixed them up and acted like it was the real exam. So I would do questions from all topics in timed mood (although honestly I used timed mood from the very beginning). 5. Before the exam by a few weeks I did one of the paid examinations on the MCC website. 6. Through out my studying I kept notes (I wrote them on the USMLE II CK First Aid book, just minimum notes on the side of the page). These notes were mainly bits and pieces from the explanations of the questions and things I found on line and they were mainly about the common topics that I found being repeated in the Canada q bank topics. Before the exam by a few days I went through these notes once. Note: Generally I would say that what helped me most is my knowledge from med school. The info that came in the exam was quite close to a final year med student syllabus and so I used my own knowledge and sharpened it by doing the canada q bank questions.
