Dear Honor Students,

As part of your participation grade for US History (11th grade) and Economics (12th grade) you are required to participate in the Student Poll Worker Program. This is a great opportunity to contribute to your community, to exercise citizen participation, it looks impressive on your college applications, and you will earn some money in the process.

What:

You will attend one training session. The session is approximately 2 hrs. Transportation will be provided for ONE training session. Alternative training sessions are available if you cannot attend. (Dates not yet available). You will assist with the voting process at your local polling station. Election Day, Tuesday, November 6th. Students are assigned to the polling station closest to their home address.

When: Where:

A stipend is paid to all student poll workers as compensation. (Amount of stipend not yet available). Juniors, you will have to notify your CWSP Supervisor of your intended absence from work on November 6th, and arrange to make-up your missed day. (Employers sometimes excuse the absence as it is considered a civic duty).

Please see Ms. McDonald in Room 402 if you have any questions.

Thank you!
