    Collecting Embryos Fairly newly emerged flies if possible (not super old) put in new bottle of food overnight (12 hours to over weekend). Good nutrition and enough space. Then place in cage overnight (at least 12 hours x). Collect 2-4 hours. (if laying really well, only need 2 hour collections, but if not laying well, need longer collection time.) Age them at RT or 25 degrees Celsius for 8hrs: if 2 hour collection, then 8 hours aging = 8-10
