The assessments below are things that I have modified for use in the classroom. The emphasis of my online learning environment is to practice the problem-solving aspect of the class objectives. Many of the worksheets listed below are from a resource that I use regularly, but now instead of doing it in the classroom, my students can shift to doing it at home. Module Number and Name 1. Kinematics Objective 1. Understand relationships between velocity, displacement, and acceleration: a. Given a graph, recognize what intervals the graphed quantities are changing b. Justify acceleration, constant velocity, and no motion using the graphed variables 2. Model motion on a motion graph and infer the behavior of Assessment Ideas The moving Man simulation to assist in understanding. http://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/moving-man The .pdf activity below to assess for learning. http://camillasenior.homestead.com/motion_graphs.pdf

Objective 1. Analyze and explain situations of static equilibrium 2. Understand the relationship between force and acceleration: a. Calculate the velocity change on a mass when given the net force b. Find the net

force in a free body diagram 3. Determine situations of uniform acceleration, therefore uniform net force 4. Apply concepts to strings, inclines, and frictional reference frames Objective Module Number and Name 3. Work, Power & Energy 1. Define work, power and energy 2. Integrate work and energy into conservation 3. Apply conservation principles to multiple reference frames 4. Estimate average power consumption by a system Assessment Ideas Simple written prompt that will require links to sources. Maybe completed in a discussion format. Objective 1. Relate mass, force, time, and velocity in the Impulse-Change in Momentum theorem. 2. Interpret force-time graphs to find impulse/change in momentum 3. Distinguish between elastic, inelastic, and explosion scenarios 4. Derive and defend the conservation of momentum 5. Apply action-reaction
Assessment Ideas Overarching ideas encompassed within: http://www.physicsclassroom.com/curriculum/momentu m/momentum.pdf Deriving and defending the conservation of momentum: Handwritten derivation, citing sources, culminating in the law. Scanned and sent to me.

Objective 1. Relate the radius of curvature and speed of the mass to centripetal acceleration 2. Determine velocity, acceleration and force at any instant 3. Sketch/identify graphs of the quantities listed in #2 4. Apply principles to multi force scenarios
