4.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to enjoy and appreciate rhymes, poems and songs.

4.3 Pupils will be able to plan, organize and produce creative works for enjoyment. LEARNING STANDARDS 1.1.1 Able to speak with correct word stress. 1.1.2 Able to listen to and enjoy stories. 1.1.3 Able to listen to, say aloud and recite rhymes, tongue twisters and sing songs paying attention to pronunciation, rhythm and intonation. 1.1.4 Able to talk about a stimulus with guidance. 1.3.1 Able to listen to and demonstrate understanding of oral texts by: (a) asking simple Wh-Questions (b) answering simple Wh-Questions (c) giving True/False replies (d) sequencing with guidance.

4.1.1 Able to enjoy action songs, jazz chants and poems through nonverbal response. 4.1.2 Able to sing action songs, recite jazz chants and poems with

correct pronunciation, rhythm and intonation.

EDUCATIONAL EMPHASIS: Information AND Communication Technology Skills,Creativity,,Multiple Intelligence. LEARNING OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to; a) pronounce words and speak confidently with correct stress by b) listen and identify sounds given with guidance. ACTIVITIES 1) Set Induction Rodolf Riddle Ringo (Who am I?) Eg : My home is in the water. I don't walk. I don't crawl, but I can move. Who am I? 2) Presentation Teacher conducts a "The Pup-Pet Show" using a poem/story with various names of pets using stick puppets. 3) Practice - Students are to work in groups. - Fill in the blanks with suitable picture words that will be pasted around the classroom. - Upon completion, in groups, students play a game called "Pet-Ball" of throwing a paper ball into holes created on a large lion face in front of the classroom. - Students are to produce the pet sound and list the characteristics of the pets aimed at. 4) Production - Pictures of pet mask are distributed. - Students are required to "Colour 'n' Snip" the mask to use during the closure activity.

5) Closure - Students to sing the "The Pet Song" with actions as well as face mask. ASSESMENT REFLECTION Pupils able to identify the sounds.
