Analyze high school course schedules and graduation requirements as related to postsecondary plans and career goals Materials: Copy of Plan Test completed in 8th grade Copy of high school course schedule Graphic of 6 Fields, 16 Clusters, 81 pathway chart Review sheet with graduation requirements and college-bound Course Description Guides Procedure: Review graduation requirements and university requirements as a whole group.

Review suggested freshmen course Schedule and current course schedule, does it match?

Walk students through core courses, rewrite freshman and align schedules as needed.

Lead students through core course selection on sophomore, junior, and senior year.

Students spend time going through course catalogs and matching electives to their career field and collaborate with the career field group to compare chosen electives. Plan for Evaluation: How will each of the following be collected?

Process Data: Decisive and formative assessment will be used for the duration of the lesson to see if objectives are being met. Extra probes and cues will be used as necessary to ensure effective flow of lesson. Perception Data: Ask questions to ensure objectives were met. Ask questions to see if insight was gained related to aligning course schedules to post-secondary plans. Outcome Data: Use questionnaire to measure effectiveness of lesson. Can students knowledgeably and efficiently make a tentative schedule? Follow Up: Periodically review course schedules and individual performance to ensure academic performance aligns with plan.
