ENDS (JIMMY DEAN'S LAST MILE) Found Poem #5

This is the photo record of that tragic day; this is the path Jimmy took to death.

This is Grapevine where Jimmy got a speeding ticket two hours before his crash Sept. 30,'55.

This is the little cafe where he had his last meal, a sandwich and coke 33 miles from accident.

Jimmy's last mile, looking west on highway 466; where picture ends his Porsche crashed.

This is the tragic intersection; a car traveling toward Jimmy suddenly turned to the left.

Where these girls stand, Jim's car came to rest virtually demolished after the impact.

From shed at right of this garage came the ambulance that took Jim to hospital.

Here he was pronounced dead; he'd sustained a broken neck, had been killed instantly.

From hospital body was taken to Kuel mortuary in Paso Robles to remain for 3 days.

Then after the inquest this hearse took Jimmy to airport for his final journey home.
