Autobiographical Sketch of Sueweny Bennett

I was born to Petra Thompson and Kemton Bennett, an unwed couple on the 28th of March 1993, the first child for both. My mother was a stay at home mother and my father, Kemton was employed at the Sangster International Airport as an air traffic controller at the time. My parents relationship wasnt a success resulting in my upbringing in my mothers childhood community, Over River Orange, St. James a rural community. As a child I had never felt smart and intelligent enough. I can remember upon obtaining my GSAT results worrying, worrying that if I did excellent enough to pass the GSAT to one of those traditional high schools that I might not be worth to attend. To my surprise, I had passed to one of the most prestigious all girls school, Mount Alvernia High. At Mount Alvernia High, I felt out of place for the 1st two years until strong bonds of friendships were built. It was probably with these friends that I found my real self. At high school I came to the realization that I had developed a particular interest in the Sciences. As my interest in the Sciences increased, my awareness in future careers in the field were awoken. I started to develop the dream of becoming a doctor not only for the prestige but also for my own personal fulfillment to have a chance in the betterment of the health of the Jamaican citizens. If I become a doctor in the future, Ill be the first member of my family to attend university much more to become a Doctor.
