Glossary: Atlast :- An atlas is a collection of maps , usually in the form of a book Latitudes:- These are imaginary lines running a full circle along the earth, parallel to the equator. Longitudes:- These are imaginary lines drawn in the earths surface from pole to pole , intersecting the equator at right angles. Map:- A graphical representation of the earths surface in miniature form. Scale:- It is the ratio of the distance between any two points on a map to the actual distance of these points on the earths surface. Symbolic Representation:- These are the features on the earths surface represented on a map by means of symbol.
