Studentsarerequiredtocometoclasseveryday.Itisessentialthatstudentsarepresent inclasstoreceivedirectionandfeedbackonthedesignoftheirprojects,andhaveaccessto helpfrominstructorsinusingthesoftware.Therefore,therewillbeareductioninastudents gradeifastudentmissesmorethanhalftheclass(5%ofinstructionaltime).Ifastudentis absent,theyneedtoemailtheinstructorassoonaspossible. LabExpectations

Toensuretheprotectionoftheequipmentandthesafetyofthestudents,pleasecomplywith thefollowingrulesandprocedures: Nofood,drinks,orguminthecomputerlab. Duringinclementweather,pleaseleaveumbrellasandwetcoatsintheoutsideroom. Whenfinished,pleaseshutdowncomputersbeingsureallprogramsareclosedand shutdownproceduresarefollowed. Whenleavingthecomputerlab,cleanupyourarea,pushinyourchair,andleavethe keyboardandmouseorganizedneatlyonthedesk.

PhilosophyofInstruction

Theinstructionofthiscourseisdrivenbythebeliefthatthebestlearninghappensthrough theauthenticapplicationofskillsandconcepts.Itwillrelyheavilyonhandsonexperienceof technologywhilecompletingseveralprojects,whichcanbeusedintheclassroomfor instructionalpurposes.Forthistobeeffective,thestudentswillalsoberesponsibleforbeing activeparticipantsinthecourse,andtocontributetotheexperiencesoftheclasstoahigh degree.
