A LESSON FROM A SPARROW

An altar from which sacrifices of self are made every moment, A platform where mankind meets the Spirit Divine, A stairway people can climb to have small glimpses of paradise, A flask filled with the oil of gladness bringing joy where tears abound, A staff in Gods hand a source of strength the weak can lean on and grace for every step forward, A signet ring in Gods own hand to seal decisions made in heaven on earth, A birds night song to lift the heavy heart of a one so troubled, A cross to mediate the huge abyss between knowledge and practice, An angel at the beck of Gods calls to comfort, deliver and soothe aching hearts, An arrow in the hands of an experienced archer ever ready for action; This was what the world taught me The nursing profession was all about! But no one trusted me as much as a staff, Ears failed to hear my loving tweet tweets, Colleagues feared to tread on my knowledge bits, Supervisors saw me as a bag of sorrow rather than a flask with the oil of joy! Nursing suddenly appeared a heavy cross to bear

Lo and behold, I heard a chirp close by, Head in hands, I turned my teary eyes To find a little sparrow perched on my window sill. A message short yet sweet Echoed through the strings of my shattered heart:

P.G.O

You may be small and insignificant; But live every moment to its fullness, Do every bit possible for anothers bliss, Sing away till the glory of Heaven descends, Fly away without expecting any returns, Then you will write legends in many hearts of a loyal nurse!

I soar to heights unknown since the day I put these words into practice; Truly a clear inspiration from Heavens shores Make it yours; soon youll rise to be a HAPPY, CONTENTED NURSE! HAPPY NURSES DAY!
Dedicated to the glory of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ alone! Humbly, Jesannie
