Technology-Enhanced Language Project Plan

This worksheet will help you to create an engaging lesson for the World Languages classroom that utilizes technology to support the National Standards for Foreign Language Instruction for Communication and 21st Century Learning Skills. Lesson Overview Briefly describe the lesson. What I want them to learn: This lesson represents the different ways when people greet and introduce each other for the first time in the Arabic culture. Through a dialogue between some people students should know the different between greeting same or deferent genders.

Learning Objectives What will students know and be able to do at the end of this lesson? KNOW: DO: Students should be able to: Greet each other based on the Arabic Islamic culture (gender/age) Stand up in pairs and take turn to greet each other using the target language. / /( Good morning/ My name is Ahmed/ what your name?) . /( Good morning/ my name is Salma) ( Welcome Salma/ How are you?) /( I am good, all praise to Allah/ and how are you?) ( I am good all praise to Allah) ( Peace and blessing be upon you) Students should be to write greeting phrases Students will know: The different ways of greeting The Arabic and or Islamic culture practice in greeting based on genders and age of the people. Assessments Students will greet each other orally with the necessary gesture based on gender and age appropriate Writing assessments: Students will create a greeting dialog between two different gender on www.ToonDoo.com Speaking Assessments: Students should create a greeting dialog between to different gender on www.mybrainshark.com Students will present their project using power point presentation

Instructional Plan What instructional activities will be used? What tasks will students need to complete? Opening Activities/Introduction to Material: Students watch a video for people greeting each other different age, genders. Show the students a list of vocabularies through Quiz let (www.quizlet.com)

Main Learning Activities: Students will be divided in pairs and practice the rule play (Activity Sheet) Students will work on pairs to match the phrase with the photo (Oral Activity) Students will practice greeting a list of phrases Closing Activities: Students (in pairs) will create a ToonDo, a selective 2-3 greeting phrases, then they will write them Note: As a final conclusion to the unit students will incorporate this ToonDoo into a power point presentation to allow the students to record their own voices through Brain Shark.

(each day and morning greeting) using BrainShark and Toondoo Students present information, concepts, and ideas to an audience of listeners or readers on a variety of topics
