You may use computer equipment only for school-related activities. You may not use equipment or facilities in any way that is inconsistent with the general rules of conduct that govern student behavior at Corning. You should not damage or mistreat equipment or facilities under any circumstances. This includes trying to "fix" plugs, cables, or other parts of the equipment. Leave that to your teacher. You may not intentionally waste computer resources (e.g. storing nonschool-related files or programs on District Network drives; using computers, printers, scanners, or other related equipment for any activity that is non-school-related). You may not use school computers or Network/Internet resources for personal financial gain or commercial purposes. You may not violate any regulations set forth by the Network provider. You may not engage in practices that threaten the integrity of the Network (e.g. knowingly downloading or sending files that contain a virus; tampering with Network software or infrastructure). You may not write, use, send, download, or display obscene, threatening, harassing, or otherwise offensive messages, files, or pictures, including pornography. You may not use the equipment or Network/Internet for any illegal activities, including the violation of copyright laws and/or software piracy. A) You should not copy, download, or install any software programs to or from school computers.

B) You must get permission from a staff member before downloading or copying any file (text, sound, pictures, video, etc.) for a school project. C) Files on a floppy disk must be scanned and approved by a staff member before use on school computers. 11. You may not use anyone else's password, nor may you share your password with others. a) You must be present at the computer if your account is logged on. b) You may not log on another student who has lost his/her computer privileges or forgotten his/her password. You may not trespass into or in any way alter anyone else's folders, documents, or files. You may not disclose anyone's personal information (e.g. home address, E-mail address, phone number, or any other confidential or contact information), including your own or that belonging to a fellow student, community member, family, or staff member.

You are advised that, in an effort to maintain system integrity and to ensure responsible use, files and communications can and will be monitored. You should not under any
circumstances expect that E -mail or other messages or files that are created, modified, transmitted, received, or stored on District equipment or Networks are private. Students who violate any of the above conditions will be subject to the suspension or termination of their Network/Internet and computing privileges,
as well as other disciplinary action as determined appropriate by school officials.
Student: I have read these Student Guidelines for Acceptable Network/Internet Use and agree to follow these rules when using the District Network and Internet resources. I understand that failure to do so will result in the loss of my Network/Internet privileges and/or other disciplinary consequences that school officials feel are appropriate.
Parent/Guardian: I have read the Parent/Guardian Network/Internet Permission Letter and the Secondary Student Guidelines for Acceptable Network/Internet Use, and give permission for my son/daughter to use the Network/Internet at School.
