Abstract
Nowadays a discussion on some websites and social networks and some blogs about Allama Ali Sharfuddin is going on.A number of people want to know about him,his ideas and contributions he made to Islam.Owing to this situation I made a review of Allama books and lectures and made a cursory agile view of ideas of Allama and his personality, so that a nowbie get a knowhow about him.I hope you will get maximum information and knowledge about agha sahab after reading this article.I will try my best to put forward his ideas and beliefs in front of you ,so that you get a clear image of his personality.

A Glimpse of Allamas Life

Agha Ali Sharfuddin Moosvi Baltistani is a great shia scholar who belongs to the montanous and hilly region of pakistan , Baltistan.He was born at Aliabad ,Shigar,from where at some distance K2,the second highest peak of the world. is located. He is prominent due to his courageous and dauntless efforts to eliminate deviations and innovations from shia Islam.He is an eminent reformist and author who wrote numerous books on different topics.Due to his frank and direct criticism on his own shia beliefs he came under the huge criticism by contemporary shia scholars,some shia scholars tried their best to seduce him and they then issued some fatwa against him that he is controvercial.Ali sharfuddin in his books again and again asked these scholars that why he was controvercial??Is the revial of true shia islam a controvercial act?or inviting all sects towards unity is a contovercial persons work.He is still unable to get the answer of calling him as a controvercial person.The main purpose of these mullahs or clergymen seems that he exposed all their acts and their betrial against the shias.That would be the main thing towards the fait of these ulema. During his studies in Najaf and Qom he copmlained againt the rule of not including Quraan in the Syllebus of these institutions.He always tried his best to make Holy Quran as the basic need for a religious institution.This thing is reflected in his books Wake up and defend Quran,Muarif e Quraan,Prophets of Quraan which are containing verses and lectures and information related to Holy Quran.It shows his love and passion towars promoting Holy Quran and Teachings.He alwas rely upon quran while he argue on some topics,these all gestures are real feelings and enthusism of Allama towars the Holy Quran. After his studies completed he came back to Pakistan and Established an institution Darul SaqafaAlislamia which published numerous shia books and litratue in Pakistan.Thus it was a great triumph of Allama that his mission of preaching shia islam succeed.

Contributionsof Allama Ali Sharfuddin Baltistani

In the following we will enlist all the topics and contributions that allama ali sharfuddin has made upto now in his books.We will discuss these topics under diferent headings. 1-False Rituals and Doctrines He criticizes in his books on different rituals and doctrines which were permeated among the shia mass as a result of Batiniyyah conspiracy.He is famous for certain beliefs and thoughts that he establishes in his books. for more please read Aqaid wa Rasoomat e Shia.He point out that only those rituals and beliefs should be followed which are authenticly narreted from Imams.He made an explaination of all the rituals which are practiced by shias of today world. If we look into the matter then it is clear that Sharfuddin is not only the scholar who made a criticise on these Rasooms but there are many shia contemporary scholars who have the same point of view.Allama Muhammad Hussain Zaidi wrote Tabsiratul Mahmoom on Rasoom and Ayatollah Muhammad Hussain Najafi wrote a number of books on the same topic.It shows that it is not a sole idea or concept introduced by agha sahab,but many scholars in past and in present have contributed to free shia from the rituals which are not a part of real shia. 2-Innovations of Matam and Azadari .He strictly rejects different innovations in the azadari of Imam Hussains and invitesthe shia mass to make an exemplery azadari that is derived from the techings of Imams of Ahlul Bait.He do not consider Alam(black standard),taziyyah,Zuljannah,Zareeh and matam sira as a part of true azadari.He called these innovations and consider them as a appliance of Shirk and Bidat.One should know that it is not only him but Allama Tinkabni and his co. also says that Tashbeeh and Tabee are Haram,as these were introduced into shiaism by Safavid Dynasty empires who wanted their sunni public to embrace Shia Beliefs after having these demonstrations.

So it is a point of view of many scholars that these are Haram or Prohibited,as during and upto the Unseen of Mahdi these things were not present among shias,so these are new things interpolated in shiaism. 3-Fictious stories of Kerbala He also made a complete research on the stories and fictions attributed to imam hussain and his family during karbala tragedy.He pointed out that a person should narrate only true stories to these personalities.So at this point we can see his ideas just like ayatollah Mutahhari,Noori tabresi and Ayatollah Fadhlolah who also have the same point of view that only authentic narrations should be quoted otherwise it is a Sin.There a lot of fictious stories that are baseless and unauthentic about the incident of karbala,so allama mentioned all these fictious stories in his three books which he wrote about azadari or matam .He focused on historical proofs and rational points to prove his point of view. So again we have a lot of shia scholars who prohibited to narrate false and fake stories about Kerbala,among these scholars we can find ayatollah murtaza mutahhari,ayatollah salehi najafabadi and noori tabresi who wrote books to counteract such fictions in the KERBALA incident.One can easily get sharfuddins point of view if he has read books of these scholars. 4-Love for Quran He is a staunch advocate of promulgating Quran and tezching of Quran.In his book Wake up and Defend quraan,he explains the virtues of quraan and its univarsality.He strictly rejects the idea of interpolation in Quran. He defends shia islam by quoting arguments that shia do not believe in tahreef of quran.it is only a lie which was spread by Ahl us sunnah about shias.the Unanimous shia majority believe in the complete quran and reject any tahreef in quran. This point was stated by many shia scholar againt the allegation by some sunnies that shia believe in the Tahreef of Quran.Just like Muhibbuddin in his Khutoot Areeza claim that shia do not believe in a single word of quran.Actulally that is a very wrong idea common about shia.So agha sahab and many other scholars wrote books and proved from shia books and history and rationally from Nahjul Balagha that Holy Quran is not subjected to tahreef and it is safe and complete,and in the

5-Seeking help other than Allah He is a person who consider Ya ali madador seeking help from ali or other aima as shirk and says that this bidat was spread by Batniyya among the shia.He has a point of view that the slogan ya ali madad or ya ali is a polithism which was introduced by Agha Khanis into shism,and they salute each other when they meet one another.So it is a shirk which must be avoided by shia mass. This point of view of allama can be justified by keeping in view the books of many shia scholars who wrote the same opinion about the Ya Ali or Ya Ali Madad.Just like Allama Muhammad Hussain Zaidi throws light and elaborate this term Ya Ali Madad in his books especially Ramz e Shia and Shia and Sheikhiyyat.Where he proves that the batini or such sects called their Lord or God as they believe imam Ali to be God.So a pure and real shiamust be avoided to use such polithic terms and slogans. 6-Taqiyyah He do not consider Taqiyyah as a part of religion and strictly criticize taqiyyah as Telling a lie.He consider it unIslamic to belive in such a baseless concept,as it is clearly against the Holy Quran.He says that islam stressed upon Truth and Honesty and Taqiyyah is against such teachings of Holy Quran.He believe that all such narrations were fabricated and attributed to Imams so that the ghaali or extremist mind shias get a worldly benefit,but Imams have never commited such a useless and unislamic belief,Martyrdom of imam Hussain and Imam Ali who devoted their lives against kazib and wrong people.How they are said to believe in Taqiyyah. (Read Batniyyat) 7-Temporary Marriage He believes and he explain in his book multiferous topics that temporary marriage was never allowed by prophet and consider mutta and misyaar marriages as Zina.He says that lusty people introduced these temporary marriage to quench their thirst of sex.He made a detail account of Topic mutta and narrated all the ahadith from shia and sunni books,and thus he used usool e hadees and elm dirayat wa

rijaal of ahadees to refute the Temporary marriage or so called mutta .He made a clear picture of shiasm about mutta and rejected it. Doctor musa almusavi had same point of view about mutta and he called it zina,in his book islaah e shia he stricly denied it to be a sunna of imams. 8-Cursing Sahaba or Caliphs He is against the cursing the companions and consider it against the teachings of aima of Ahl Bait.The most widely criticism over agha is this point that he do not curse or abuse Sahaba and Caliphs.According to him we must know that even today we can not find such companions for a leader as muhammad have,and his caliphs made such a rolemodel that we can not find today in any democrate government.Thus he praises caliphs for their justice and philanthropy.They even continued Salat,Zakat and other Islamic principles which is lack in todays governments and rulers. .9-Exposing Pakistani Ulema In his books he criticizes pakistani ulema for their misuse of religion and leadership.he exposes different shia scholars of pakistan.He criticize them and invitethem to guide people towards the right path. Read Fasalnama Adalat 10-Blind Following or Taqleed He is againt the blind following of ulema or mujtahideen.He is an advocate of Ijtehaad. 11-Intercession or waseela He is of the view thtat waseela or intercession as considere by public is totally shirk.it was not prescribed by aima so he give a detail account of What is waseel and how it is attained. 12-Knowledge of Unseen

He believs that Knowledge of unseen is associated to only alimighty allah and none other than him is aware of the Unseen.He called it shirk to consider Elm e ghaib of Rasool or Aima. 13.Birth or Arrival of Mahdi The most controvercial thing about agha sahab is his research and statements about imam Mahdi.He rejects and refute the oft-believed doctrine of Imam Mahdi.He criticizes the topic in the same manner as the topic was discussed by Ahmed alkatib and Ayatollah Borqei Qomi.He consider it a mythological thing that imam mahdi will come ever.He throws light on the concept of Mahdoyyat in his books.and gave proof from shia nad sunni books that mahdi was never born and all traditions about his arriaval are only fake. 14-Against Shirk His Books rejects shrk and all the ways that leads to shirk ,he make a vivid idea of Shirk ,its types and how one can avod himself of Shirk. 15.Shia Sunni Uniy He consider shia sunni unity as one of the milestone for the peace in muslim society. 16-Anti-Secterion Personality Ali Sharfuddin strictly against the pro secterian attitude.He says I am not a pro secterian person.Secterianism is against the teachings of Muhammad and his Progeny.He called it a conspiracy of Jews and batiniyya to divide and rule over Muslims. 17-Enemy of Ahl Bait He make a glimpse on the topic of enemy of Ahl Bait. 18-Talisman He is against taweez and such practices and call these as un Islamic.He calls the muslims to call only almighty allah if they ever face any difficulty.

19-Unbiased History of Islam While commenting on history he make a best prospect of the events by mentioning the historical personalities.Even discussing event of migration he made a detail account of Abu Bakr as the friend of Prophet. 20-Love for Prophets He is a true lover of Prophets that is why he published many books in the names of prophetrs entitled as Propets of quran. 21-Complaints against Contemporary

22-Criticism on his own sect He made critcizm 23-Practical and Nominal Shia He catograized shia into two types. 24-Agha Khan Agha khan and his organizations are obinomable to agha as he consider them as a tool of Batniyya to spoil the mass and spread their teachings.He make a detail view of Agha khani or Batiniyyah and called them as the demolishers of Islam.

25-Rowyat e Hilal Seeing moon is an islamic practice.But unfortunately it is a controvercial thing.

26-Qatal Gaah

Qatal gaah or the place of battlefield is ain skardu where some domes or tomb are held.People come there for ziyarah of quboor and Once a standard or flag was imported from iran. 27-Criticism on Sheikh Tauheedi Ulema of Baltistan especially Sheikh tauheedi was criticized by Ali Sharfuddin for his coarse attitude towards the deviations and polithism among the mass of Baltistan.He mentions that sheikh tauheedi and other ulema believe that we can not teach the right religion to people.So in his way they deviate themselves and make no effort to emolirate the people by rejecting the polithism which are now common in baltistan. 28-Prophet and Imams are made of Light He srtrictly reject the concept of some extremist that imams and prophets are not human but noor.he called it mere ignorance that prophet and aima made of light.He refutes by quoting Holy Quran and sunnah narrations to falsify this concept about imams and prophets. 29-Refutation of Sufism and Sufis He is deadly against the sufis and sufism.He called it a huge collobration of kuffar and jews to intoduce sufism in islam.He consider it as unislamic sect which was permeated into islam.In islam there is no concept of Sufism.He deduce his point using Nahjul balagha and other evidence to reject sufis. 30-Prostration other than Allah Allama sharfuddin consider it unallowed to prostrate before someone other than almighty allah.He says that in the holy quran and narrations of Muhammad and his progeny prostration is allowed only for allah and prostration before someone except allah is shirk. 31-Enemy of Ghalis and Ghullu His books and writings stress that islam was demolished by the Batnis and ghalis.Who exaggerated and fabricated different concepts and introduced them in

Islam especially among shias.He consider ghalis and batnis as the worst enemy of Ahl ul Bait. 32-Point of View about Sunnis and Wahabis In his books ali sharfuddin rejected many concept of sunnis and wahhabis and their behaviours about Shia and ahlul bait.But on some places he admits that sunnis and wahabis are not as much bad to call them as nasibis because there are many books printed by wahabis in the name and virtues of Hussain ,Ali and Ahlul bait,and also the wahabis and Sunnis always mention the names of Progeny of Ahl Bait in evry prayer.So 3334 35 36 37 38 39 40.
