The following are the questions we asked to the Manager of Punjab National Banks Amlaha Branch, District SehoreQ.1. What is your organizational structure on the basis of designations? Ans:- The Rankings of Mangers from Top level to lower level are as follows: Executive Director General Manager (Scale VII) Deputy General Manager (Scale VI) Assistant General Manager (Scale V) Chief Manager (Scale IV)

Q.2. What is the process of external mobility in your bank? Ans:- The external recruitment is done for the following posts only:i. ii. iii. iv. Assistant Manager (Officer) Clerical Peon Safai Karamchari

Fot the Post of probationary officer the external recruitment is allowed upto 20% which is done through common IBPS exams for PO. The Clerical is majorly recruited externally only few peons are internally promoted as clerks. For Peon the recruitment is done through the employment exchange. For Safai Karmachari they start as daily wagers and after one year they become full timer. Mostly of them recruited are SC/ST. Q.3. What is the process of internal mobility in your bank? Ans:- The internal mobility for different posts are discussed as follows:i. Peon: A Safai Karmachari after 3yrs of experience is eligible to become a Peon if they have certain minimum qualification like 8th pass.

Clerical: A Peon after 5yrs of working in his post is eligible to appear for internal written exam and interview to become a clerk with minimum qualification of HSC. Officer: 80% of recruitment is done internally for this post. Minimum 5yrs of experience in clerical and minimum qualification of HSC passed is eligible to appear for internal written exam and interview for Officers post. Branch Manager (Scale I): Minimum 3yrs experience of Assistant Manager and minimum qualification of Graduate is eligible to appear for internal written exam and interview for Branch Manager. Senior Manager (Scale II): Minimum 3yrs experience as Branch Manager is eligible to appear for internal written exam and interview for Senior Manager and apply as per vacancies that arise with different qualification requirements. Chief Manager (Scale III): Minimum 3yrs experience as Senior Manager is eligible to appear for internal written exam and interview for Chief Manager. They can apply as per vacancies that arise with different qualification requirements. Assistant General Manager (Scale IV): Minimum 3yrs experience as Chief Manager is eligible to apply in interview for Assistant Manager. The final selection is done on PF base i.e. Performance based through rating & interview. Deputy General Manager (Scale V): Minimum 3yrs experience as Assistant General Manager is eligible to apply in interview for Deputy General Manager. The final selection is done on PF basis. General Manager (Scale VI): Minimum 3yrs experience as Deputy General Manager is eligible to apply in interview for General Manager. The final selection is done on PF basis. Executive Director (ED): Minimum 3yrs experience as General Manager is eligible to apply in interview for ED. The final selection is done on PF basis. Chairman of Punjab National Bank (CMD): Chairman of PNB is selected by Government of India on PF basis of different EDs of different banks.

Q.4. What are the separation procedures you follow? Are there any challenges faced while separation? Ans:- There are two types of separation procedure followed: i. Voluntary Separation: When an employee desires to leave the organization voluntarily it is known as voluntary separation. In such case the employee has to give a prior notice in 1 month advance and all dues and salaries will be paid to him i.e. Pension, Gratuity and leave encashment. If the employee leaves without a prior one months notice he shall only be liable to his/her dues but not that months salary. Involuntary Separation: An employee can be resigned from his job under the orders of the administration for two reasons namely charge of some activity which do not

abide by the code of conduct of the employees or medical issues. This is discussed as following: a. Involuntary Separation Under Charge: Necessary dues shall be paid to the employee but he/she will not be liable to any gratuity or pension fund. b. Involuntary Separation Under Medical Reasons: All dues as per service shall be paid with leave encashment, gratuity and pension. Q.5. Are there any policies regarding leaves if yes, what are they? Ans:- The 240 days are privilege leaves allowed which is paid during retirement. Every years out of 30 leaves you can encash 15PLs during LFC. LFC: For Clerical- in two years 3000kms train travelling full fare of 1st IAC or 2nd AC or 75% of fare if encashed and taken in four years 7000kms train travelling IAC or IIAC. For Officers- in two years all over India 75% of fare if encashed or full ticket 1st AC fare of ticket fare. For Managers- 2.5lakhs package for travelling all over the world in the whole tenure of his post. Q.6. What are your promotion policies? Ans:- There are two channels of promotion: i. Seniority basis: Clerks on the basis of seniority (i.e. most senior clerk) are eligible for the post of officer through interview. Similarly Officers are eligible for the post of Manager on the basis of seniority through direct interviews. Written test for 3yrs experience are eligible. Internal Examination: Management Cadre examinations are held for different Scales for promotion.

Performance Based selection is done at higher levels i.e. for selection of AGM, DGM, GM, ED they are selected by ratings on the basis of performance for the next level. Q.7. What are your induction programs held for the new employees? Ans:- The employees are provided15days training period depending on the various departments through training centers. During their induction period they are trained for their level of job responsibilities that they shall undertake under their position. Q.8. What are the training and development provided to the employees? Ans:- When any new versions are adopted employees are sent for training. However all employees get training in 1 to 2yrs of interval.

Q.9. What are your selection process for different external recruitments? Ans:- External selection are made on the basis of performance in Common Written Examination (CWE) conducted by IBPS and Personal Interviewing. Personal Interviewing- The total marks of personal interview is 100. Candidates have to score 40 marks to qualify the personal interview.
