THE BEGINNING OF ARTS IN PALAWAN

PALAWAN was clandestine in the 3 main parts of the Philippines. It is also the island easy to reach the 3 main parts of Philippines. It was called a The last frontier Before the traders arrived here in the Philippines; our ancestors here in Palawan were publishing their own art as they what imagine or their see. And also as they history remembrance to know the next people what they did have done and what are they believes. It is begin from the Palawans to grown with their own arts and also trading from the Arab, Indio, Chinese, and Vietnamese are trade to the Palawans. Here in Palawan there is a lot of evidences that the people live in the other part of the Philippines. And also one is tawt bato the live in a cave.The Palawan people divide in five (5) kinds of tribes like Taot bato, Tagbanua, Palawan, Molbog and B atak. Their tribes their own king of art, living, clothing, shelter, and rules in their tribes. Tribes: Taot bato tis tribes were living in a cave during rainy season, when its sunny day they in the plain to plant palay, root crops and other kind of food that they can take during rainy days..The Tabon were found in the Quezon, Palawan. It is 130 Hectares area of the cave. These caves serve as the shelter of the tabon man

Manungol jar late Neolithic burial jar(890-710)B.C the jar was made. it can be seen in one thousand (1000) Peso bill was found in tabon by Dr. Robert B. Fox and his team in 1962 Palaeolithic Period. In this cave also found the skull of the girl that found by Dr. Fox. It has person existed before the research of Dr. Fox. And that proof the people before live in the cave. . This Jar curve in the top part of jar was the beliefs that life after death. The person who was driving the boat, he delivers the soul at the underworld. In their music they use a kudlong, suling, pagang and aruding when they are in the festivals and thanks giving to their God. Tagbanua The tagbanua tribes were living in the coron Palawan. They live in the northern part of Palawan. Their occupation was the hunting in the forest. They use hunting materials to catch wild animal. Tagbanua people were not were their over dress to kept their breast. I thought it is because in their culture its not a hindrance in everyday life. Araro is the one of their contribution in the society of agriculture. This tools was use in harrowing a soil to excavate a inches deep of soil and this soil can be used in planting of Palay, Corn and other root crops. In Their past time to make tika the soft wood and they curve a geometrical design. I thought the Palawan people unable know in math geometry when I saw the tika in the museum I believe that the people were able made that design according to they see.

Palawan is in the southern part of Palawan. These tribes were found in hinterlands. They are nomads tribes because as I observe in our barangay that they are changing their house because of the occupation. They are like in the tagbanua as my father arrived in Bataraza. Because they are not wearing dress they use bahag. And also they use any kind of materials that can be recycle and reuse for their daily lives and also for their houses they made. The Arts of the Palawans the taruk and Agong. Taruk was a dancing with the leaves nipa and this dancing was rhythm to the foot this kind of dance is a kept of the Palawans tribes. This was use in baptism of their tribes. Agong is gong music. It is used to request to their God a rain during the sunny seasons. They requesting because of the weather that not compatible in their season because they were going to plant any kind of root crops special when they are kaingin is not click to the season. One their best attitude of the Palawans is helping to each other when they have I planting, and changing house lot. One of the specialties of them after plant palay in the kaingin is to eat sindol. This kind of food that made of floor, sugar. Its the same with the bilo-bilo. In their wedding ceremony that the fathers aging of 40 above are have meeting while the broom and bride are preparing. This meeting were a father of the bride and the broom and family side to contribute the dori for the payment of the broom to the family of her wife. The male native and the their older father in their tribes teaching them a martial arts which is now as I know is gone because I could not saw them. These martial arts are in self defence not to make trouble. But these martial arts were selected to those who have family wanted to learn. This session were did every morning and afternoon. This is called silat There game was not game by a child only. The teen ager, father aging of 25 above were playing too it is because this is there pleasure d uring of 3 oclock in the afternoon they play kasing like Turompo in tagalog. Mol bog they can be finding in the southern part of Palawan. Murky or turbid water they are in the water living because they occupation is fishing. They are not living n the mountain because there are not gifted to occupy the mountain because they are have not enough idea how to live I the mountain. They are in the sea shore. As they say these tribes is lazy because they only know in fishing not other in the other tribes. One of the hobbies of the Mol bogs is making a boat which they go to the deeper see to catch a fish. They favourite dishes were made in flour. Their families are there in the father they also have cooperation in any occupation like other tribes in Palawan. Batak- these tribes can be found in the north eastern portion of Palawan. They are Negritos because they are very black brown skin. In their occupation they are in mountain like other tribes hunting an animal to eat. There shelter is very simple because it likes a very simple cottage that has roof and wall. The flooring is sand or soil. In this tribes I dont know there festivals how they did it.

The arts of the tribes that i saw last day are antic. Before the foreign arrived here in palawn the ancestors are living peacefully according on their culture. They are influenced by the trader. These traders make a difference in their daily lives. Also in their culture that they follow until now. The other traders long ago in the Palawan are fair during their time it is because they are exchanging what we called BARTER. According to the arts and proof that I saw in the museum the arts are too old. One the handmade art that I admire the old porcelain, but I dont if that is not a replicate. As I know that the metal bronze where the tobaccos put I am very familiar. I hope can I saw the Manmade arts that never been saw of anyone. I want to explore to those area that found the metals and proof of trading during an ancestors time. The ancestors of Palawan people made small sculpture to remember their beliefs of the next. Every tribe here in Palawan has the same belief but they did not the same in what name of their god. One of the arts that get my attention is the painting of the Don L. Schoat one of the American soldiers survives in the Japanese time during World War II. His art for me is semi-abstract I dont know if it is a spray paint. But the way he is made I believe that the kid of his arts was based I what he experience in the Japanese time. The two administration were influenced the Palawan tribes; The American Administration were establish their ideas that the tribes chieftain were adopted from the American. The female natives married the American. When the American closed to the natives they have some attitude adopted. When the Japanese came and kept the administration of the Palawan. The natives in mountain conceal to the Japanese it because of the new administration. In the other way the other tribes welcome to other. As I know the native have some a lot of knowledge about the treasure that never seen before it is because theyre afraid to tell it. But, because they want to preserve it. Natives of today much has ideas in what they wanted to do. As of now the other tribe are in the mountain not disturb by the people. Their tribe were not able to do their monthly or yearly to do it because of the civilization. Where now in the Palawan tribes were had a law to the indigenous people to preserve what the Palawan made in. And the ancestors of this province were from. The other tribes now are in the middle of the civilization of the world. We all know that the tribes of Palawan were getting smaller I is because of modernization. Here in Palawan the tribes are not only a tribe but they are important to the society because of their have done not because of them it because their ancestor teach them. They have a lot talent but we cant find what they are. For the other tribes they have a different beliefs, culture, food, clothing, arts, political and health services in their tribe. And that culture was very different to the other but as I know that they can be understood from their languages and the sign. And also to their older male in the tribes can be understand the other Palawan tribes.
