Environment

Windows 2008 64 bit master server. Netbackup 7.0.1 installed on the server. No additional media servers in the environment

Cause

The netbackup client service was running under the local system account. The local system account does not have a valid certificate causing the catalog backup to fail with "Error obtaining authorization paths"

Solution

In order to complete the Hot Catalog backup sucessfully with status code 0 , start the Netbackup Client Service on the Netbackup Master Server with the Domain Administrator Account , the account which is the member of the Domain Administrators Group..

Restart the Netbackup Client Service on the Master Server and rerun the Hot _Catalog backup. This time the Hot catalog backup will complete with Status Code 0.
