Loops
Loops can be used to verify that the transmission system is working properly or they can be used to locate the faulty unit or interface in case of failure.
7.4.1
General
The following loops are supported: Connection Loop Loops an interface (E1) connected to the backplane back to its origin. The loop is done in the backplane. If the interface is trafc routed an AIS is transmitted to the other interface in the trafc routing. Loops an incoming line signal (E1 or MS/RS) back to its origin. The loop is done in the plug-in unit, close to the line interface. An AIS is sent to the backplane. Loops a line signal (E1 or MS/RS) received from the backplane back to its origin. The loop is done in the plug-in unit. An AIS is transmitted to the line interface.
