FLOW OF DRUG DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

PRESCRIBING SYSTEM
The Physician will make a prescription for the drug

It will be signed with a named mark by a Trodat marker

The prescription will be attached to the medical request of the patient that is signed by the nurse on duty

DISPENSING SYSTEM (for inpatients)

Pharmacists make an inventory of the assigned shelves Pharmacist prints all medical request
The Pharmacist records every drug request per ward in the inventory sheet of every drug

 Pharmacist recheck the drug to be dispensed with medical requests

The Pharmacist gives the requested drugs to the nurses ad the nurse will return the empty vials used for each patient

DISPENSING SYSTEM (for outpatients)

An inventory is made by the pharmacist A number is given to every patient
Once their number is called, the prescription of the doctor will be given to the pharmacist
The pharmacist will give the medicines to the patient. The amount given will depend on the prescription of the physician, usually per month)
