Deferred Exams

If we grant you special consideration, you may be able to sit a deferred exam. A deferred exam is an exam that has been postponed to a later date. If you are unable to sit your exam due to illness or circumstances beyond your control, your faculty may allow you to sit a deferred exam. You must submit a Deferred Final Assessment Form (This form is available on the shared drive/ the Monash Website and also from Student Services). Please hand in the form to Student Services once completed. If the faculty grants you a deferred exam, your unit result will display DEF (deferred exam) in WES. Eligibility Your reason for applying for special consideration must be beyond your control. For example: Acute illness Loss or bereavement Hardship or trauma You can only apply for a deferred exam if you did not sit the exam. If you sat for the final exam or assessment task, you will not be eligible to apply for special consideration. You will not receive a mark adjustment under any circumstance. Application Make sure you use the correct form. Take your form, no later than 2 university working days after the date of your last exam for the semester - for deferred final assessment Submit it as follows: Deferred final assessment: Submit to Student Services Possible outcomes You can get special consideration in the following ways: A deferred exam Notification You will be notified via your official Monash email of the final decision.
