1) First, while the gear still is in one piece, drill the Holes for the 0.75x 6 inch Bolts and the flanges at Their final position. (look The plan attached)

2) Next, disassemble the flanges to replace With two L section structural beam, just In one side of the gear.

3) Once assembled the structural beams their function will be to provide resistance For the possible displacements because of cast residual stresses on the piece when you will cut the gear into halves.

4) Now you can cut the piece into halves, being Sure that the diameter Will keep its dimension

This is how each Half should be Sent to avoid Displacements In the diameter, be carefull, dont Charge the beam to any kind of Aditional flection
