*The day for assessments, day for grading, and conferences: As determined by elementary school administration, with input from stakeholders, these
responsibilities may be planned/reconfgured to meet the needs of parents, students, and staff.
**Total Days in the Calendar for Students and Staff:
The calendar was purposely designed to include 185 and 195 days in the school year for students and staff in order to include 5 days for inclement weather. The fnal
number of days for students and teaching staff will not exceed 180 or 190, respectively.
The Board of Education reserves the right to alter the calendar if more than 5 days are used for inclement weather and/or emergency closings.

Washington County. However, because the school system is unable to accommodate system-wide closures for
every observance, all WCPS staff members are expected to avoid scheduling major testing, special school events,
and evening activities during these days.
