A fine arts curriculum fosters critical thinking and problem solving skills, teamwork, creativity and innovation; skills considered vital to competing in the global marketplace.

BA in Art Studio from CCU MAT in Art Education from CCU Sponsor: National Art Honor Society Co-sponsor: DECA Judge: Academic Olympics She is currently working on her National Board Certification. She works during the summer at CCUs gifted and talented summer arts camp.

BA in Art Education from Indiana University Sponsor: National Art Honor Society Sponsor: Academic Olympics Committees: Prom, Pageant, Beautification, Motivational, and Renaissance Received her AP certification in Studio Arts She works after school at LMS with the One-on-One Learning tutoring program

Our Objective: To teach students a high level education in our art classroom, to foster a
productive relationship with both students and parents, and to maintain an interest among students that will develop their desire for success and subsequently life-long learning.

Vans Shoe Contest

This is the 3rd year LHS has participated in the Vans Custom Culture shoe design contest.
The following students volunteered their talents to create the 4 pairs of shoes this year:

Lesley Hilburn, Jordan Rich, Holly Edwards, Lauren Rose, Ronjeer Bellamy, and James Boswell.

Fifteen students represented LHS at the Technology Fair this year. Our students competed in the following categories: Animated Graphic Design, Video Editing, Non-animated Graphic Design, and Digital Photography.
The following students also participated: Sanibel Sharp, Victoria Singletary, Mallory Suggs, Natalya Green, Kayla Planty, Jesse Hoard, Morgan Cain, Christian Stevens, Jendayi Brooks-Flemister, Lauren Rose, and Casey Stroud.

Nationwide Congressional Art Competition


First District Winner for South Carolina

A reception was held at the Horry Georgetown Technical College Conference Center. Congressman Tim Scott introduced Lauren as the state winner and asked her to speak about her piece. Lauren will be traveling to Washington DC in June for the nationwide reception. Her artwork will hang in the

NAHS students had the privilege of going to Pops Glass in downtown Conway. While there they were able to see a glass blowing demo and then create their own blown glass ornaments.

This is the group that volunteered at the Special Needs Family Fun Day.

We participated in the TMD class wreath auction.

We set up at the Loris Bog Off to do a community arts awareness campaign.

One of the most rewarding events NAHS members participate in each year is being able to go to Loris Elementary school and help out with Art in the Yard.

Loris Bands Completing a Great Year!


The Loris High School Band is wrapping up another successful year! This year has seen a great Marching Band Season with lots of trophies for Caption awards and Band Placements and another Superior Rating. The Marching Lions once again hosted a very successful Loris Band Day where Bands from across the Carolinas came to Heniford field to compete for Awards and Placements! Our Symphonic Band Received an Excellent rating art the SCBDA Concert festival again this year and again we were one point from a Superior. We had 17 Students earn seats in the All-Horry County Band, 4 Students that Earned seats in the All-Horry County Symphony Orchestra and 7 Students earned seats in The SCBDA Region 5 Bands! Also for the First time since the 80s we placed a student in the South Carolina All-State Band. We are looking forward to some great performances to end our year! Hope to see you there!
