Attendance
Math 2 is part of the new common core (CCSS) being implemented across the U.S. Students will be learning math in a different way and it is important that they are in class as much as possible. Students will be tested at the end of the school year to determine proficiency in the math 2 core so it is imperative that students attend as often as possible. I support and uphold Unions Absence policy.

Tests
After each chapter or unit, students will be tested to check for understanding. Students should take the time to study and review ideas. I will give students at least one week notice prior to any tests that we take in class. Tests will usually occur about once every 3 weeks. 1 retake will be allowed on each test. Retakes can be taken before/after school or during flex and must be completed in one siting. Students will receive the average of the two test scores. If a student is absent the day of a test it is their responsibility to make up the test within 1 week of the test being given. After the 1 week deadline the test will be scored as a 0. If there is a conflict please see me. Tests will count 50% of the students overall grade.

Assignments
Assignments will be given daily. Assignments provide practice problems for students to work on to help them learn a specific concept or idea. Students will be given both in class assignments and homework. Homework will be a worksheet of 10 problems from the days lesson. All assignments are required to be completed in pencil. Work completed in pen will receive a deduction of points. Late work will be deducted 50%. Work is considered late if it is not turned in at the beginning of the next class period. If a student has an excused absence they will have two days to complete their missing work. Worksheets can be printed from my website. Assignments will count 30% of the students overall grade.
