An Unforgettable day in my life. I heard a familiar voice calling my name. It echoed in mind of someone very close to me.

I recollected the voice and I turned around and to my great astonishment, I spotted my long lost friend Samrit. I could not believe my eyes that Samrit was right in front of me. It was fifteen years ago Samrit and I were in the same college and were classmates, before he embarked on his journey to United States to follow his father, who was then an aeronautical engineer at NASA. I could recognize him vaguely for his appearance has changed drastically. His black, thick hair now seems to be scanty; his tough body has apparently been deteriorated to a disease-stricken portrayal. All in all, he was not the Samrit I used to admire fifteen years ago. I was hesitant to query about the total change of his image. I could either resist my curiosity or further interrogate about him. I felt sorry for him to experience such an irreversible condition. Before I could utter my words, he could read my mind. You must be wandering about the changes in me. Am I right? he asked melancholy. I replied with a nod. What on earth got into you? I asked. Well, it is nothing new about the disease Ive contracted now, he replied. Im down with leukemia. I hope that will explain the whole picture of my present image. I sympathetically looked at him. My mouth was temporarily gagged. Ive only a year to live, he sighed with disappointment. I was searching for words to console him but to no avail. He looked happier than me at that moment. He told me that he wanted to spend some time with me before he goes back to U.S.A. for his treatment. We went to a caf and ordered some drinks and started to recollect our sweet memories when we were at school and college. We spent about five hours on our flashback. We laughed at some funny incidents. We played tricks on our friends and teachers. I guessed those were the most memorable moments of our lives. Samrit was taken aback when I told him that the most notorious boy in our class is now a lecturer in one of the local universities. Samrit agreed that at least he has left a mark of success in our school. Time past swiftly. I did not realize that it was time for us to be parted again. In few days time Samrit will fly back to Los Angeles. Ill miss you again, Samrit said tenderly. Me too, I replied. This unexpected moment was the most unforgettable day in my life.
