1965-1970 Six Day War In 1967 Egypt and its neighbors planned to attack Israel.

Egypts neighbors are Jordan, Iraq and Syria. In a result of the plans, the six day war began. Another name for the six day war is the Third Arab-Israeli War. This picture shows a map of Egypt and Syria. These two countries planned to attack Israel.

In 1967, there was a rise in terrorism in Israel. A possible reason for the terrorism is that Israeli officials began to threaten military action in opposition to Syria. Syria could have been terrorizing Israel in response to the threat. Israelis also saw repeated Arab terrorist attacks and Syrian military action. Therefore, Arabs could have also terrorized Israel. M.L.K Assassination On April 4, 1968 Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. He was assassinated at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. He was only 39 years old when he was killed. James Earl Ray assassinated King and died at the age of 70 in prison. King was assassinated in room 306 at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. R.F.K Assassination On June 6, 1968, Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated. While walking through the kitchen of the Ambassador Hotel, Kennedy was shot. He died 26 hours later at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was killed by 24 year old Palestinian/Jordanian immigrant, Sirhan Sirhan. Kennedy was killed by a .22 caliber Iver-Johnson. Woodstock Fair On August 15, 1969, the Woodstock Music and Art Fair began. It was held at Max Yasgur's 600-acre dairy farm. 32 acts performed outdoors in front of 400,000 people. Swami Satchidananda gave the opening speech for the festival. Jimi Hendrix and the Gypsy Sun & Rainbows were the last to perform on August 18, the last day of the festival. 4 Killed in Ohio In 1970, National Guardsmen killed four unarmed students in Ohio. The shootings occurred at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Some of the kids killed were either protesting or watching the protest from far away. The people killed were Jeffrey Glenn Miller, Allison B. Krause, William Knox Schroeder, and Sandra Lee Scheuer. A total of nine people were wounded. This picture shows the four people killed that day.

Nigerian War In 1970, the Nigerian Civil War ended. The war was a political conflict between Nigeria and the Republic of Biafra. The death toll was very high with a total of 1 to 3 million people being dead. Nigeria won the war and so did the
