More for this week:

As we are talking about writing our names in class we refer to it as The Kindergarten Way It is very important

Dont forget!
Do not put anything that you want me to have in your childs backpack. Place all important papers and or envelopes in the STAR side of their folders! Mark all money please (name/amount/and what it is for) All papers should be checked and cleaned out of your childs folder daily. Check backpacks too just in case.

that you work with your child on writing his or her name The Kindergarten Way. The first letter of their name is large or capital and the other letters are all lowercase. We also are working on the formation of each letter. Be sure that your child is starting the letters in the correct place too. Most letters are continuous strokes-meaning your child does not pick up their pencil. Refer to the letter packet for exact instructions on every letter. It helps to create good habits right away and work on the correct formation now. It will mostly involve re teaching your child to write their name again The Kindergarten Way. We do assess their first name with the correct formation on the 1st 9 week report card. Thank you for practicing with your child. The packets do not come back to school!

From the Teachers Desk:

We are continuing a great start in our class and we have been learning about classroom community and teamwork! This week assessment for letter recognition and beginning sounds begins! If your child does not know letters in isolationbegin with the letters in their name! Start making a stack of letters they do know upper and lower-case separate. Add new letters to the stack as they master or know them. It is important to start this now. Students are expected to know all the letters in isolation both upper and lower case by December. If your child already knows letters Yeah for You Those students will begin working more on proper handwriting form for each letter and reading readiness skills. Thanks for working with your child!
