For example, you need to know the R values of the components that make up walls and roofs. Normally, you change only numbers or cells that are blue in color. Other cells contain formulas. If you wish to change the calculation methods assumed, then you would modify the formulas that are black in color. This spreadsheet neglects the decreased envelope insulation value where structur al members occur in walls and roofs, if any. As stated above, this is an approximation. English units are used throughout.
