These are basic tricks that you can perform with common lamp oil and ordinary we apons.

Tie a bit of rope, that has been soaked in oil, around the end of a club. When t he time is right, ignite that end of the weapon. This should allow the club to g ain a +1 point of fire damage to its standard attack. It would probably burn for 10 rounds. A small warning, this will result in the ruining of your wooden club . They are cheap and easy to replace, but this does take time. You could find yo urself without a weapon for a unknown amount of time. Carry more than one of the se would be a good idea to consider. An alternative approach to the weapon above would be to soak the roped end in ho ly water. The rope and wooden club would absorb the water like a crude sponge. T his would result in a temporary +1 holy damage to the weapon's standard attack. The club would maintain this damage for 10 successful strikes, before needing to be resoaked again. A nice cheap weapon for clerics on a budget! Tie some twine or string near the pointed end of a wooden stake. Then soak that end in some oil for about an hour. Then, when the time is right, ignite your wea pon! This, like the club, should give you a +1 point of fire damage to the stake 's standard attack. This will not likely burn for long, probably for about 4 rou nds. So it is recommended to use it as a flamming projectile. This would be a ni ce thing to have when hunting vampires. Tie two bags that have been soaked in lamp oil over the head of a mace or hammer . Then when you need to, ignite the bags. Like the weapons above, this should gi ve your weapon a +1 fire damage bonus. This should last at least 8 rounds, befor e the bags burn away. You can also tie small strips of oil soaked cloth to the ends or arrows or cross bow bolts. Upon ignition you should gain the +1 fire damage bonus! It is also a nifty way to start fires and briefly see what lies ahead in dark places (tunnels , caves, large holes, etc.). This effect would probably only last for 4 rounds. To help you ignite these objects quickly, it is recommended that you tie a singl e Tindertwig to the weapon with a bit of twine. This way you can draw out both i tems at the same time! This trick can also be used for others things, like candl es or torches.
