2. Non-native speakers of English (NNS) often have problems with pronunciation. Discuss the problem areas and suggest ways to overcome these problems identified. Provide relevant examples to illustrate your answer.
PROBLEM 1
There are languages or dialects that does not include some of the sounds found in English Language. It is been said that Malaysia people does not distinguish the vowel length. The vowels produced by Malaysian speakers tend to have equal quality and duration. This can be because of the confusion between long and short vowel sounds like:dark (long) and duck (short)
HOW TO OVERCOME IT? Listen to native speaker of English Language talking Imitate the way they speak and the sound they produced when pronouncing words. Attention to each single vowel and consonant sounds
PROBLEM 2
Non-native speakers are often lacking in speaking with the suitable intonation.
For example, They wanted to walk to the market, can bring several meanings that can lead to misunderstanding if the speakers use wrong intonation.
They wanted to walk to the market. (Rise-Fall) The wanted to walk to the market. (Rise)
HOW TO OVERCOME IT
the NNS own voices, then hear it and do also hear the native speaker intonation patterns. Compare the intonation, then learn how the native speakers play with the intonation

They eventually pronounce the incorrect form of word within a sentence without noticing it.
