Pension and gratuity are not bounties but earned by the employee by dint of his long, continuous, faithful and unblemished service. Right to pension is considered as right to property under Article 300A which says no person shall be deprived of his property save by authority of law. At present there are no statutory provisions in place to deprive a retired employee of retirement benefits which include pension, gratuity, leave encashment etc. Therefore executive instruction cannot be a reason for deprivation of retirement benefits. 2. On April 18, 2013 SC passed a landmark judgment to find out from the Dongria Kondhs and other forest dwellers whether mining in Niyamgiri hills was an infringement on the religious, cultural, individual and community rights of the indigenous tribes. The judgment is in connection with Rs. 40000 crore bauxite mining project of Vedanta Aluminium Ltd ( earlier Sterlite). The judgment paved the way for the first ever environment referendum.

3. Bachpan Bachao Andolan Vs Union of India: SC upheld the view of Justice Verma Committee report that major reason for trafficking is for commercial sexual exploitation. It also said that trafficking has become a lucrative business since the risk of being punished is very low. 4.
