High Power Connection Systems

Description This connection system is a cost-effective connection for use in high power applications in conventional and electric vehicles. Delphi Connection Systems specializes in developing a wide range of interconnection technologies which are being applied to the automotive marketplace. Delphi was selected to design and manufacture high power connection systems for the EVI electric vehicle. Typical Applications Applications for these 225 ampere interconnects include: battery input, charge port input to power electronics bay, conductive charge port, and motor to power electronics bay interconnects. Performance Advantages This low cost, circular body connector utilizes automotive rather than military-style crimps, significantly reducing component costs and manufacturing assembly time. This interconnect system employs a hertzian (multi-point contact) liner to provide high reliability, and is available in sealed and unsealed versions. In addition, the system features indexing capabilities for multiple uses, EMI protection and a minimum number of components. For optimum ergonomics, a mechanical assist for engaging and separation has been designed into the system.
