Healthy Heart Award!

This morning during shared fruit a very special guest visited An-Nur. The children were all very excited to see Julie from the Heart Foundation, who had brought along a few surprises to share with us. After having morning tea with Julie she gave a special mat time session, in which she read a book about a healthy animal followed by awarding An=Nur our second gold level/p harakeke award: flourishing Healthy Heart Award. We are all very proud to have received this award, and it acknowledges the nutrition and physical activity education our children at An-Nur experience.Julie was so impressed we had met the criteria for the highest award a second time she generously gifted us a beautiful lemon tree! After gifting the award, Julie introduced the children to a fruit and vegetable matching game. Teachers Voice: I am very proud of our children being so eager and engaged in all

nutrition and physical activities offered, as well as our body education. It is great to see you continue to gain confidence and control over your bodies while establishing heart healthy habits for a life time. Our children often strengthen links between home, centre and the wider environment as they recognise similar practices their parents do at home or produce they purchase within the wider community. We will continue promoting healthy lifestyle choices, introducing a wider range of healthy food in to your diet and offering plenty of opportunities to strengthen gross motor, fine motor and eye hand co-ordination!
