Reading Response Letter Use this as a guideline when you write a reading response letter.

-Date (upper right hand side of the paper) -Greeting (Dear _________,) on the left hand side of the paper BODY (Remember, your body is SORE): Indent your first sentence of the first paragraph. -S- Introduce the book that you are currently reading. Give a brief summary about what you have read so far using the Who? What? Where? When? Why? and How? format. -O- Opinion-Do you like/dislike the book? What about the author? OR if you have shared these opinions before, give your opinion about the other characters or other things in the book. Tell me what you THINK!!! -R- Respond to the requirement in the assignment from your teacher. Be sure to address the topic somewhere in your response so that I am sure that you know what you are responding to. Be sure to use evidence from the text to support your response. -E- End your letter with some sort of closing comment or question for your reader. -Closing (Sincerely,Your Student,Your friend,.Love,) On the right side lined up with the date -SIGN YOUR NAME (Beneath the Closing) -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------These reading responses will ALWAYS be written in your reading notebook unless I instruct you differently. It is important that you ALWAYS date each letter and respond using the required response for that particular days assignment. If you are absent when we do a reading response, you will be responsible for making it up in your reading notebook.
