Observation and Identification of Blood Cells Lab

Purpose
1. Identify each of the types of blood cells under the microscope.
2. Observe the relative abundance of each type of cell.

Procedure
1. Go to your assigned station. Observe a prepared slide of human blood (Wright’s stain).
2. Use your book and printed micrographs to help identify the type of blood cell in the
middle of the field of view.
3. Draw the cell in your table below and record the microscope number that the specimen
is on.
4. When you have finished or when you are waiting on an available microscope, fill in the
function of each type of cell.
