BACKGROUND
Jean owes a great deal Claude Robin, executive at Troyes formation center. While he was playing for Blois Foot 41 no other clubs were interested in him, even if his skills were standing out in each and every game. He even tried at Rennes but was rejected due to his height that was perceived as incompatible with modern football Finally Mr. Robin spotted him and Troyes gave him a well-deserved chance. In Robins words No club was interested in him, and I kept on asking myself how is this possible. I dont want to exaggerate but hes got it all. Pretty soon he took over as France U17 National team captain and proved to be a true leader and inspiration model for his teammates. 2012 2013 was the season Jean mad his debut in professional football, after he was promoted to Troyes senior team. He played 15 games and scored 3 goals and everyone in Ligue1 was talking about the new phenomenon called Jean. His good luck however began to end when Troyes relegated and he could no longer be in the spotlight (as Ligue2 barely receives any interest from the media). There is no doubt that sooner or later Jean will start climbing the ladder of professional football, but until that happens his career is stagnating. However strange that may seem, the fact that at the moment Jeans value isnt going up is a good thing for any potential buyer. In regards to his private life Jean is like most teenagers out there, making the most of the internet (especially social media) and loving his computer games. At the moment of compiling this report Jean is not involved in any relationship that could disrupt his concentration (still only 18)

CHARACTER
Jean is a hard trainer, strong willed and determined to improve and achieve. Right now at Troyes he may not be a natural leader, but when around players his age everything gravitates around him. Jean is always smiling (it even can be seen in the links provided) and as a consequence he is a source of positive energy and great atmosphere in the locker room.

Jean is easy going and a pleasure to be around.

He has pretty much the same approach to every match, showing consistency, no matter if he is playing against the former Champions or against the last placed. He is one of the few offensive players that are also involved in the defensive phase with the same willpower.

MEDIA
Even if very young he doesnt seem to be media shy at all. Friendly whenever is requested, very good public image, easy going and a large smile. Coach used to take him at press conferences where Jean was always the center of attention. His playing style (he just loves doing tricks with the ball whenever the opponent and the result permit it) is attracting media attention and he could easily become a media darling given the proper club, severely increasing his market value.

PLAYER ASSESSMENT
OVERVIEW:

Usually played as striker, either in the 4-4-2/4-1-4-1. He loves being the target for actions carried on the flanks by fullbacks, but also gets involved Stands out for his acceleration, speed and ball control. Acceleration and speed make him very aggressive in the defensive phase, permitting to recover many balls around the middle of the field. His finishing is very precise due to the great ball control skills and speed that allows him to be one step ahead of opponents.

PHYSICAL:

Height and volume are below average and this can be considered a major setback for his career. Even if because of the way he is built hes faster than majority of opponents, and when speed is not in his favor he manages to dribble even the most experienced of defenders, most clubs nowadays are on the lookout for solid strikers, and he is perceived as being fragile. Needless to say that aerial play isnt his strong point due to the height and weight. His lungs must be from iron or something as he doesnt seem to ever get tired

MENTAL:

Always happy and confident Determined, focused and correct with everyone Never gives up no matter the score or the opponent (thats why fans will always love him)

SPECIFIC SKILLS AND BEHAVIORS:

WHEN TEAM HAS POSSESSION Good relationship with the ball, regardless if theres space or not. He feels comfortable both in the center and also on the flanks, showing good mobility and intuition. Happy to take part in the construction process, showed good reception and is an adept of one touch passes.
On the air he has difficulties because of his height. Is very aggressive while in possession, attacks spaces with power, incisive and strong on contact, speeds up the process fully making use of his best attributes: acceleration, speed and ball control. Sometimes hes undecided compromising his effectiveness when opponent makes contact. Has precise shots from mid-close range whenever he can, always with eyes on goal, using both feet. When off the ball hes also in alert and proactive, attacking empty spaces and being in a continuous movement inside or around the box, movement that disorientates opponents. Set pieces: does not take any of them, usually positioned in the box (reeling).

WHEN TEAM DOES NOT HAVE POSSESSION Shows the same aggressiveness, ready to bite the ear off the opponent
Jean is one of the few modern offensive players who like pressing the opponent and do it effectively. Being active without possession doesnt take away any of his energy and he looks fresh for the entire period of the game. Thanks to his intuition he can recover many balls, and due to his speed and acceleration those can turn up to be deadly counters. At set pieces he positions himself in such a manner so he could cover eventual tunnels.

DEFENSIVE TRANSITIONS

Promptly reacts to loss with determination and aggressiveness.

OFFENSIVE TRANSITIONS

Able to provide solutions for teammates, on the lookout for open spaces and possible tunnels, can speed up the game, prefers short passes and one touch movements.

OVERALL:
POSITIVES

Determined, consistent and confident. Can play striker or winger and judging by his skills the role of attacking midfielder could also suit him. Acceleration, speed, ball control and intuition above average.

Source of positive energy and media darling potential.

Active in both the offensive and defensive phase, with and without the ball. Very mature for his age.

NEGATIVES

Overall physical dimension below average. Weak heading skills / aerial play. Sometimes gets tangled in unnecessary dribbling moves losing precious time.

CONCLUSION

Jean is very mature for a player his age. His skills can only be improved and developed further under the right guidance. At the moment Jeans career is stagnating (if not in a downtrend) at Troyes in Ligue2, especially since the club has many offensive players and the coach is an adept of rotation (nobody is a regular striker at Troyes). Due to his fast playing style he would best suit a club specialized in counter tactics, where he could make a real difference. His further development wont necessitate much effort seeing that Jean grew up around football stadiums, playing for US Chemery ever since he was only 6 years old and until 2008. Taking in account his media darling potential one may fear that he may go AWOL once that happens, but his character is already formed and there are virtually no chances for that to happen. His seriosity and dedication corroborated with acceleration, speed, agility, ball control and intuition more than compensate for the below average volume. This season would be the perfect time to approach Troyes for an eventual transfer, seeing that nobody is seen as a regular and the club cant ask for an out of this world fee considering they just relegated. Waiting more could mean an increase in the price of the player or a decrease in his attributes (due to lack of competitive games), with the latter option being the most probable and regrettable.
