Learning Intentions: To develop appropriate pace, volume and expression while talking To speak on a given topic for an expected length of time To demonstrate active listening, showing respect and attention to the speaker NSW Syllabus Outcomes: TS1.1 Communicates with an increasing range of people for a variety of purposed on both familiar and introduced topics in spontaneous and structured classroom activities. TS1.2 Interacts in more extended ways with less teacher intervention, makes increasingly confident oral presentations and generally listens attentively. TS1.3 Recognises a range of purposes and audiences for spoken language and considers how own talking and listening are adjusted in different situations. Free Choice Built and Natural Environments in Books- Bring in a book you like that shows or describes a natural or built environment e.g. beach, library, park, shop. Discuss the book and the built or natural environment Create a built or natural environment- Draw or create a picture of a built or natural environment. Use this picture, and palm cards if necessary to explain the features of your environment. Free choice
