CULT CAVES IN BULGARIA A BRIEF REVIEW
On the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria about 6000 caves up to now have been studied.
Not less than 1000 of them are religious objects - rock churches and monasteries, cells, dormitories,
canteens, tombs, etc. Most of them are constituted in natural caves, which are articially shaped to
religious and domestic functions. Another part of the caves are entirely carved in the rocks. This work
is a brief overview of most representative monuments on the territory of Bulgaria.

CAVE MONASTEREIES AT UKRAINES TERRITORY
Systematized information about cave monasteries located in the territory of modern Ukraine
is presented in the article. Four regions where the great amount of cave objects is concentrated are
specied. It is proposed to consider these regions as the separate centers of monasticism which were
established and functioned in different periods: Crimean Peninsula during 6-15th centuries; Middle
Dnieper region during 11-18th centuries; Dniester region during 15-17th centuries; Middle
Siversky Donets region during 17-18th centuries.
