Dear friend, neighbor, colleague or citizen, Its been more than ninety orbits of earth since a big war

ended. That big war was sincerely marked by the war winners as a war to save civilization. Afterwards, eleven November was celebrated as Armistice Day. Hooray! Armistice Day celebrated the End of War. That anti-war sentiment changed when you and I werent watching. Instead of a day to End All Wars it became Veterans Day. Veterans ought to have a day of their own, just not on November 11. I request, nay demand, that Armistice Day be returned to its original date, meaning and intent. I think a new Veterans Day should be celebrated. If a summer day is desired, I suggest the first day of May. If a cooler winter day is preferred, then consider the fifth day of December. Never choose a day in April or June. With Armistice Day and Veterans Day settled, wouldnt it be nice to celebrate a HUMANS or CITIZENS DAY too. Imagine, a day celebrated by everyone in the US no matter where they came from or how and when they got here. The everyone in CITIZENS DAY includes visitors, aliens, the jailed, the poor or rich, people with principles or those with no principles at all, people who are theists or those who are not theists, people who are educated or those who have neglected their educations (for whatever reasons), people who are members of a politically loyal group or to a loyal opposition group, people who avoid all political activities, women who are married or not married or with partners, battered women, happy children or mistreated children, men who are married or not married or men with partners and all persons with few options to live free, as is the right of all humans! No person should be identified or labeled as illegal on Citizens Day. It is a day of solidarity, of love, with no exceptions except one: no persons dogma will trump the dogma of another. All celebrations will include speeches by ordinary citizens, but no speeches by an orator, politician, pabst, preacher or presbyter. Why cant we have a day to honor people and why cant we begin the first Citizens Day Celebration on January 21st?
