Aim of this activity: The aim of this activity is for you to interview students/pupils. In the dialogue, you will ask for experiences and insights of their learning especially when instructional materials are utilized. After the interview, you will compile all the learning episodes and accomplish the group processing activity.
Instructions: 1) Approach a college student, a high school student and an intermediate elementary student. 2) When they agree to have this interview with you, please indicate the needed information in the template below.

II. KEY QUESTIONS FOR THE INTERVIEW

Name of interviewee: Esphe Anggot Grade 6 Gimaylan Elementary School 1. Ask the student of her favorite subject in school and inquire who her/his teacher is in the subject. a. What is your favorite subject in school? Who is your teacher in this subject? Esphes favorite subject is Science because she gained new knowledge every time her teacher discusses a new lesson. Her Science teacher is Ms. Merlina Cabanlit. 2. Let her/him describe how her/his teacher instructs the subject. a. Describe how teacher A instructs/handles the subject? Esphes teacher taught them interactively. Their teacher uses different instructional materials like Charts, real objects (e.g. gumamela flower.) everyday; their teacher recalls their previous discussion in order to review the students learning. Thus, Esphe stated that, everyday, our teacher conducts a quiz or a follow up activity to ensure that we learn from her discussion. 3. Make inquiries if the teacher uses instructional materials and how the students find these instructional materials in facilitating their learning of the subject. a. Does teacher A use instructional materials (flip charts, flash cards, diagrams, realia, etc) in teaching? Yes, she is fond of using charts, diagrams, big pictures, real object to emphasize her discussion. b. Are these materials helpful? Why? Yes, because we can learn easily and it is easy to remember because we did something from that material. 4. Find out if there are classes in their school that do not use instructional materials. How do they find these classes (as in engaging, interesting, etc)? a. Are there subjects that do not use instructional materials? None, all of the subjects taught in school uses instructional materials. She quoted that in their Values education, her teacher sometimes used videos, and we were fond of watching educational videos. Esphe quoted. b. How do you find these classes? They are happy, and we dont want to miss a class. 5. Finally, ask if they see if instructional materials are important for learning and studying. a. Are instructional materials important for studying? for learning? As Esphe stated, Instructional materials are important for learning and studying because she can learn easily from the lesson being discussed and she can easily recall the things presented by their teacher. b. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using such materials in learning? Esphee quoted that she can learn from the different instructional materials presented by their teacher but sometimes in her class, she used only a few materials.

Name of interviewee: Windelyn Anggot 3rd year High School Libertad National High School. 1. Ask the student of her favorite subject in school and inquire who her/his teacher is in the subject. a. What is your favorite subject in school? Who is your teacher in this subject? Her favorite subject is Filipino and her teacher is Mrs. Josephine Salas. Let her/him describe how her/his teacher instructs the subject. b. Describe how teacher A instructs/handles the subject? Windelyn describes her Filipino teacher as a Humorous and always ready. She quoted that bisag unsay mahuna-hunaan for as long as related siya sa among leson. During their Filipino period, they were ready for something new, she added. Thus, every student are expected to listen in order not to have a punishment nor a penalty. 2. Make inquiries if the teacher uses instructional materials and how the students find these instructional materials in facilitating their learning of the subject. a. Does teacher A use instructional materials (flip charts, flash cards, diagrams, realia, etc) in teaching? Mrs. Salas uses instructional materials such as Manila paper, big books and Video clips) sometimes, she even sent them outside our classroom to search for a thing to become inspiration for our original composition. b. Are these materials helpful? Why? Yes, because they can learn from it. 3. Find out if there are classes in their school that do not use instructional materials. How do they find these classes (as in engaging, interesting, etc)? a. Are there subjects that do not use instructional materials? No because most of their subject uses instructional materials. b. How do you find these classes? N/A 4. Finally, ask if they see if instructional materials are important for learning and studying. a. Are instructional materials important for studying? for learning? Yes it is important because she can learn easily. As a student, we have to understand the lesson in order to learn. b. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using such materials in learning? Windelyn stated that one of advantage of using instructional materials in learning helps them to learn easily and to study effectively. They are assured of not falling asleep in class but rather to participate in their discussion.

Name of interviewee: Justin Mae Paluga BEED 4 SPED Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan 1. Ask the student of her favorite subject in school and inquire who her/his teacher is in the subject. a. What is your favorite subject in school? Who is your teacher in this subject? So far, she loves Religious Study (RS 55). Her teacher is Mr. Noel Bacoto. 2. Let her/him describe how her/his teacher instructs the subject. a. Describe how teacher A instructs/handles the subject? Justin said that his teacher is very fun, not boring and a humorous teacher. He always inject realistic example since we were dealing with Moral Values and the application of all RS subjects taught in the university. 3. Make inquiries if the teacher uses instructional materials and how the students find these instructional materials in facilitating their learning of the subject. a. Does teacher A use instructional materials (flip charts, flash cards, diagrams, realia, etc) in teaching? Mr. Bacoto uses documentary videos in teaching a lesson. b. Are these materials helpful? Why? Yes it is helpful because it supplements his discussion and, they can easily grasp the thought and they can study and read at home and at school. 4. Find out if there are classes in their school that do not use instructional materials. How do they find these classes (as in engaging, interesting, etc)? a. Are there subjects that do not use instructional materials? Yes, but it depends on the teacher. There were a lot of teachers that does not use instructional material to supplement his/her discussion. b. How do you find these classes? As she quotes boring and I am having a hard time to understand the lesson. c. What materials can the teacher explore and use in order to improve learning process? According to Justin, a simple powerpoint presentation and yet interactive and student focused is enough, with hand-outs for supplemental reading. Thus, it depends on the course because some subjects must have realia or exposure to real things. 5. Finally, ask if they see if instructional materials are important for learning and studying. a. Are instructional materials important for studying? for learning? Answer: Yes, because I can learn easily the lesson. As a student, we have to understand the lesson in order to learn. b. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using such materials in learning? I can easily learn with the help of instructional materials with the aid of the teachers discussion plus a humor injected to it. Thus, every
