Saving one person won't save the world, but the world will change for that person
Have you ever found yourself overwhelmed by the amount of need in the world?
Frozen in your thoughts by the amount of suffering every time you switch on the TV news and wondered how you, as one person, can do something, anything, to help alleviate the suffering that blights so many communities. We felt the same and, like many people, we felt that we had to do something, to focus our energies on making change happen. We also realised that if you wait for someone else to take the lead you could be waiting a long time. Realising, that as Muslims, living in a place of isolation was not fostering understanding or spreading the positive message of Muslim community support. We are building a community of change by offering a way to reach out across the global divide with a message of hope, reassurance and kindness. So Amanah Awqaf Charitable Trust was born a charity, which uses the power of Infaq (charitable spending) to drive real change in our local communities and insure a more positive future for our children.

Our multilayered international advocacy and aid ensures sustainable community development and local ownership and empowerment can and will be achieved. Through targeted programmes of development we ensure that the infrastructure is there, and communities can flourish. The best of people are those that bring most benet to the rest of mankind. It all starts with education

The most empowering gift of life you can offer is that of education. With knowledge, skills and confident an educated person is able to support themselves, their families and the future ot the community.

A childs journey should not be taken alone

Childhood is a profoundly precious and formative time in any life, and if a child is unfortunate enough not to have the love, care and support of parents then it is the communities wider support they will reply on. We believe that the whole of society benefits from investment in the most vulnerable, in helping these children have a future we can all be proud of together. I and the one who looks after an orphan and provides for him will be like this in Paradise (showing his middle and index ngers and separating them a little). Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)

We are all human

Sadly too many people around the world live in a state of vulnerability, unable to sustain themselves if disaster manmade or natural should hit their lives. Through strategic-long term planning we have systems in place to react to need, when it happens and when it is needed. Not next week, not next month, but when it will be needed now. What actions are most excellent? To gladden the heart of human beings, to feed the hungry, to help the aficted, to lighten sorrow of the sorrowful and to remove the suffereing of the injured. The liquid of life, poisoned for generations of people living in Bangladesh

Without clean water there is no life up to 77 million people in Bangladesh have been exposed to toxic levels of arsenic from drinking water in recent decades. This began after hand-pumped wells were installed in the 1970s to tap groundwater. according to a Lancet study. This is why we are focusing on this almost unquantifiable area of need.
