Description
Who knew recycling could be so much fun? We will transform trash into treasures. We will create all kinds of crafts from recyclable materials. Some project ideas are Capri Sun totes or wallets, Pringle can pencil holders, soda can tab jewelry. Start collecting your recyclables and be prepared to get crafty! Lets get creative! Bring your own photographs from home and we will create a scrapbook timeline of your life! We can create exciting products using graphics and your personal writing and thoughts. You are sure to cherish your memories and products forever! Do you know how to downward dog?! Can you do the cha-cha?! This cluster will have you movin & shakin. We will use yoga and Zumba to strengthen and relax our bodies and minds. Who has the scoop on whats going on!? This cluster will have you writing, reporting, and snapping photos of life at Irwin! You will help to create the first edition of the Irwin Inquirer by collaborating with your fellow scholars. Watch outthis cluster is hot off the presses! NO BOYS ALLOWED! This cluster is just for 4 and 5 grade girls! We will participate in fun-filled activities and welcome guest speakers to help boost character and self- esteem. This cluster will also enhance life skills. NO GIRLS ALLOWED! This cluster is just for 4 and 5 grade boys! Title Description
Calling all students who love to act, sing and move! Glee Club will be putting on the minimusical "Welcome to the Jungle" which tells the story of Aesop's fable The Lion and the Mouse. Most students will have at least one speaking line and several will have multiple lines. All students must love to sing and not be afraid of an audience. It will be hard work but tons of fun! We hope to see you there! Wanted: Creative kids who are ready to display their artistic skills and talents! We will design and construct a mural to be used as a backdrop for a musical performance put on by other Irwin students. This cluster is for 2 and 3 grade boys and girls who are interested in enhancing their life skills. We will participate in fun-filled activities and welcome guest speakers to help boost character and self- esteem. Bring your tennis shoes and comfortable clothes! Our cluster will follow the Girls on the Run model. We will learn about the importance of healthy daily exercise and nutrition routines, while building our self-esteem and improving social skills with our peers. Try to keep up with us! Are you mad about science!? Do you wonder about the world around you? This is the cluster for all science enthusiasts! Lets hypothesize and put our observational skills to the test! We will explore and experiment as we learn about different scientific concepts!

Are you crazy about Legos? Could you spend hours building fantastic creations and structures? If so, this cluster is just for you. We will use our imaginations and work through problem solving and building challenges. Combine your love of writing AND art by creating visual AND written masterpieces! We will create artistic works, then write from a high-interest starting point with concrete visual details. We cant wait to see what you create! Get ready to dance your way around the world! We will learn dance types from around the world, including: step, ballet, west African, cheer, Bollywood, etc. We will learn the history of the dances and all kinds of dance routines.

Girls on the Run

Description
Bring your tennis shoes and comfortable clothes! Our cluster will follow the Girls on the Run model for 3rd through 5th grade girls. We will learn about the importance of healthy daily exercise and nutrition routines, while building our self-esteem and improving social skills with our peers. Try to keep up with us! Calling all animal lovers! Lets explore vertebrates and other animal groups. We will investigate the needs of living things and how they impact our environment as we create products. Our cluster will work to create a petting museum in which the students will research and create a costume representing the animal of their choice. Are you a chatterbox? Do you enjoy sharing stories with others? Then this club is for you! Presenting with Pizzazz prepares young scholars to become confident public speakers. General topics include making introductions, quick-pick speeches, using visual aids, involving the audience, and general speaking techniques. Students will learn WHAT you say is important, but HOW you say it gives your speech pizzazz! Our culminating project will result in an "opening act" for the 2/3 musical. Calling all Fancy Nancy fans! If you enjoy the stories of Fancy Nancy, this cluster is just for you. We will have our own Fancy Nancy adventures together. We will listen to Fancy Nancy stories and create projects that connect to our adventures. We will also learn to dazzle our friends as we use fancy vocabulary words. Come on! Lets get crafty!
