ABSTRACT TITLE: WEBCAM BASED ATTENDANCE SYSTEM

The current system of attendance i.e. in manual system of attendance, the process generally followed is that the staff in the class calls the roll no and the students answer their respective roll calls accordingly. But this system has many disadvantages as follows: Disadvantages:

Proxy attendance is submitted many times. During some lecture, there can be chaos in the class during attendance, in such a situation there can be a human error! A staff may have to give 10 minutes of a lecture for taking the attendance of students A staff has to do a lot of work like calculating subject wise attendance, monthly attendance, total attendance, defaulter list etc. manually.

Our system of webcam based attendance system aims to overcome most of the disadvantages of manual system mentioned above. In our project following modules will be implemented. Module 1: Gathering students detail. In this module students details like name, student profile with images (photo: with 3 pose and 2 Expressions) are collected.

Module 2: Attendance through Webcam. This module will work as mention below.

Webcam is placed in the classroom through which the images of the students are captured. Captured Image is compared with stored images and according to the result system will mark the attendance of the students. Module 3: Different form of Report Generation. Through the different access levels the reports are modified and finally generated.

Daily Attendance Report. Subject wise Attendance Report. Monthly Attendance Report. Final Attendance Report with their attendance marks, Detention List.
