Attention: all artists, cultural workers, media makers,

producers and allied media. The United States Social

Forum process needs YOU to tell the stories of real
people making real change across the country.
The Social Forum movement - conceived as an alternative to the World Economic Forum - is a
space for social movements and progressive sectors of civil society to meet and share ideas,
stories and solutions to confront the world’s continued economic, ecological and human rights
crises.

The first World Social Forum was held in January 2001, in Porto Alegre, Brazil, during the early
stages of Brazil’s democratic transformation.

Millions have since participated in the social forum process all across the world...

In 2007, the first USSF drew more than 15,000 to Atlanta Georgia.

The 2nd USSF will take place June 22-26, 2010 at Cobo
Hall and Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit.
Other workshops and community art and culture programs will take place across the city.
