CCSD Human Resources: Thank you for taking the time to review my rsum. I am applying for a special education position in the Clark County School District. I have received my B.A. at Nevada State College in Elementary Education with an emphasis in special education. My rewarding experiences working with children who have Autism have inspired me to become a special education teacher. Therefore, I can continue serving more students in the district. My student teaching took place at Robert Taylor Elementary school in a resource room and in a third grade immersion classroom. My student teaching was a challenge that I gladly accepted and was able to conquer. My student teaching has made me more efficient in developing Individualized Education plans, handling behaviors, connecting with parents, and modifying materials and lessons so that each student can learn effectively. I have tutored children who have Autism, using Applied Behavior Analysis strategies. These experiences have provided me with an abundance of behavior management skills that are very effective. I feel ready to take on a classroom by myself and would feel honored given this opportunity. Being part of the Clark County School District would be a great place to continue delivering my teaching skills that I have gained through various teaching experiences. I can offer the students of Clark County School District a role model of whom they can follow, who will always push them to their greatest potentials, and will positively motivate them to continue learning. My ability to effectively control behaviors and find ways of teaching the Common Core standards to a diverse group of students is competent. I have lived all around the Clark County School District area, attended a lot of schools, and have personally seen the effect that amazing teachers have on the lives of many students. I would love more than anything to become a part of that community!
