Oracle Master Items Lot Divisible flag: Oracle has introduced a new flag as Lot Divisible in the Inventory

y tab of the Master Items form in Release 12 of the application. This flag was not there in 11i; hence you need to know the following points if you are planning to upgrade to Oracle R12 from 11i. Business Scenario: There is 12 and 14 Each of Item A426677 in the FG1 and FG2 subinventory respectively in 11i under lot number L4477 that you need to migrate to R12. Migration Options: You may perform Miscellaneous Receipt transaction for the above items in R12 either through interface or directly in the Miscellaneous Transactions form. Probable Issue: As the Lot Divisible flag is new in R12, the item A426677 migrated from 11i to R12 might not have the mentioned flag checked in the master items setup. If it is unchecked, you wont be able to receive the item in multiple subinventories and/or locators using same lot number. The error message appears as Lot Indivisible: In another subinventory or locator, some inventory has been found for this lot. The transaction is invalid. This error message appears both in the interface and form. Therefore whichever migration methodology you follow this error will appear to migrate stock as per above mentioned Business Scenario and if the Lot Divisible flag is unchecked. Resolution: Check the Lot Divisible flag at the appropriate organization level in the Master Items setup and then perform the on-hand migration. If you are using an Item Template for the Item Migration, you may update the template as well to address the flagging for the items created in future. Please make sure, there is no stock available for the item to be correctly flag in the respective organization. Benefits of Lot Divisible flag: The Lot Divisible flag provides you additional control on Lot control process that restricts storing of same item and lot number combination in multiple subinventory and/or locator.
