Gauge: 9 double crochet stitches = about 4 in. (10 cm). EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT. Scarf With A, chain 18. Row 1: Double crochet in 4th chain from hook and in each chain across. The beginning chain 3 counts as one
double crochet, so at the end of Row 1 you will have 16 stitches. Row 2: Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet), turn, double crochet in each stitch across and in the top of the chain 3 16 stitches at end of row. With A, repeat Row 2 until the piece measures about 5 1/2 in. (14 cm) from beginning. Fasten off A. Join B with a slip stitch and repeat Row 2 until B section is about 5 1/2 in. (14 cm). For each pillow, fold fabric in half, with RS together, and lay fabric onto a flat surface. Lay crochet piece onto doubled fabric and pin in place. Cut shape from fabric, about 1/2 in. (1.5 cm) outside edge of crochet shape. Unpin and remove crochet shape. Keeping the 2 fabric pieces with RS together, seam pieces by hand or machine, 1/2 in. (1.5 cm) from outside edge and leaving an opening for stuffing. Turn fabric to RS and stuff. By hand, sew opening closed.

Gauge: 12 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Sew Strips together along adjoining edges. Bobbles (make 126, in colors as desired) Ch 4; join with sl st in first ch to form a ring. Rnd 1: Ch 1, 5 sc in ring; join with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 3 sc in each sc around; join with sl st in first sc 15 sc at the end of this rnd. Rnd 3: Ch 1, (sc3tog) 5 times; join with sl st in first sc 5 sts. Fasten off. Attaching Bobbles Attach 16 Bobbles to each inner curve across long sides of Afghan 3 groups of 16 Bobbles each along each side of Afghan. Across each short end of Afghan, attach 5 Bobbles at each end of each seam between Strips 3 groups of 5 Bobbles each across each short end of Afghan. NOTES: 1. Each Bobble is attached to the Afghan with a cord. 2. Cords can be twisted cords, as explained in the instructions below, or a crocheted chain. 3. We used a yarn color that contrasted with the Bobble color to make each cord. To attach Bobbles with Twisted Cord Cut a 15 in. (38 cm) length of yarn in desired color. Gently separate the length of yarn into 4 strands. With one hand at each end of one strand, twist the strand until tightly twisted, then fold strand in half and let it twist back on itself. Knot ends about 3 in. (7.5 cm) from fold. From RS, insert hook through Afghan, then through fold of twisted cord. Draw fold of cord through edge of Afghan, forming a loop. Pull ends of cord through this loop, then pull to tighten. Sew Bobble to ends of cord. To attach Bobbles with Crocheted Chain If youd prefer to make a simple crocheted chain to attach each Bobble, simply join yarn to Afghan with a sl st. Make a ch about 2 1/2 in. (6.5 cm) long, then fasten off. Sew Bobble to end of ch. Weave in ends. Abbreviations: beg = begin(ning)(s) ch = chain dc = double crochet hdc = half double crochet rep = repeat

Border Join C with a sl st anywhere along outside edge of Afghan. Rnd 1: Ch 2, work hdc evenly spaced around outside edge of Afghan, working 3 hdc at each corner; join with sl st in first hdc. Rep Rnd 1 until Border measures about 2 in. (5 cm). Change to A. Rep Rnd 1 with A for 2 in. (5 cm). Change to C. Rep Rnd 1 with C for 2 in. (5 cm).
