Year C - Sunday 27 (6 October 2013) - Intercessions Pastor: We believe that our worship draws us to God and toward our

neighbors on earth. At this time in our worship, let us offer our hope, our fear, our need, our longing to God, who hears and answers every prayer.

Pastor: We pray for those who are on our hearts today: for those whose need we have received on the Prayer Request Forms (read requests), for those whose needs have been spoken aloud and for those whose names are on our printed Prayer List (read first names). Pause.

Liturgist/Deacon/or other leader: As I read each petition, I will end with the words Lord, in your love, and ask you to respond, Hear our prayer. We pray for the whole creation: May we all learn before it is too late to respect the uniqueness, fragility, and beauty of our earth and all its creatures. Pause. Lord, in your love, Hear our prayer. We pray for every nation and race: May our actions and lifestyle bear out our belief that all people everywhere are our sisters and brothers, whatever their country, their city, or their tribe, whatever their education or their culture, whatever their circumstances, religion, or color Pause. Lord, in your love, Hear our prayer. We pray for peace in our torn and troubled world: We pray that weapons may be discarded instead of people, guns silenced instead of the voices of the poor, and that, in a world half-expecting an economic and environmental holocaust, we might learn that love is not a luxury. Pause. Lord, in your love, Hear our prayer.

Liturgist/Deacon/or other leader: Lord, in your love, Hear our prayer. We pray for the church of Jesus Christ: May it be true and joyful, wholesome and active, always rediscovering that You called it into being for the service of others. Pause. Lord, in your love, Hear our prayer. We pray for our sister churches in the UCC and all who celebrate World Communion Sunday around the world: May we give credence to our claim that there is one Church, one Faith, one Lord. Pause. Lord, in your love, Hear our prayer.
Pastor: Lord in Your Love, Hear our prayers For There is one body and one Spirit, just as there is one hope to which you have called us. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism. There is one God of all, who is Lord of all, works through all, and is in all. To you, O God, be glory, honor and dominion; Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us to pray, saying:

Our Father.... AMEN.
