HOME MANAGEMENT AGING AND RETIREMENT

Home Management
As soon as the family is established, all its members

start thinking and working together for common goals.

This gives rise to formulate a plan of action, delegate

responsibility, organize and control the available

resources to achieve the desired goals.
In this context, management becomes a means of

using resources (what you have) for the attainment of family goals (what you want).

Woman manages the house in such a way to provide

optimum development of individual members and the

family as a whole
Joint Family: Members living together managing their

resources, allocating responsibilities to every family

member, and satisfying the needs of all, irrespective of income, position and status of the family members.
Uniformity in the distribution system relating to need

satisfaction was maintained.

Joint families are breaking down and modern,

democratic (nuclear) families coming up.

Apart from the structural changes of the family, the

nature, characteristics and functions of family has

changed.
Adding to it, women taking up jobs outside the home

have a tremendous influence on family life today.

So home-management now is a challenge to every

home maker to achieve development, happiness and peace at home and in the community

Aging and Retirement

Ageing is a multidirectional change involving the

physical, psychological and social spheres of persons

existence.
Ageing is not a steady state but a dynamic process. Old age is broadly taken as disengagement. In this last phase of human life cycle, the aged are

supposed to take a back seat and avoid all their roles and responsibilities
